Apple Intelligence and Siri AI: Reimagined Assistant with Visual Intelligence and Writing Tools

Apple has unveiled the next generation of Siri, now called Siri AI, as part of Apple Intelligence. The reimagined assistant gains conversational abilities, context-aware actions, and a dedicated app. New features include Visual Intelligence, Write with Siri, and photo editing tools. The rollout begins in English later this year.
Key Features
- Natural conversation: Ask open-ended questions, brainstorm, and engage in back-and-forth. Siri understands personal context — finds a photo from years ago, locates an email, pulls note details.
- In-app actions: Edit a message, add a song to a workout playlist, or set reminders based on current activity.
- World knowledge: Answers facts, recipes, travel recommendations by referencing online information.
- Dedicated Siri app: Centralizes conversations across devices. Pin conversations, pick up where you left off.
- Voice customization: Pick a voice, adjust expressivity and pace.
- Siri in CarPlay: Ask about trailheads or other info hands-free.
Visual Intelligence
Available on iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro. Point the camera at objects to get information, split a bill, get nutritional data, or import a card to Apple Wallet. On Mac: screenshot and search. On iPad: tap or circle with Apple Pencil. On Vision Pro: look at an object to learn about it.
Photo Editing
- Spatial Reframing: Move viewpoint, adjust angle, or zoom after the shot.
- Extend tool: Expand images.
- Clean Up: Remove larger objects, enhanced.
Write with Siri
Generate drafts from scratch or get feedback on existing text. In Messages and Mail, Siri matches your writing style, punctuation, and tone.
Also announced: Image Playground for creating images in photorealistic style, and Image Wand to transform sketches in Notes.
Availability: Coming in English later this year. Free with Apple Intelligence.
