Claude Corps: Anthropic's $150M National Fellowship for Nonprofit AI

Anthropic has launched Claude Corps, a national fellowship program that places 1,000 early-career individuals with nonprofits for 12 months of full-time, in-person work building AI solutions using Claude. The program comes with a $150M commitment from Anthropic.

Program Structure

• Salary & Benefits: Fellows receive $85,000/year plus benefits, a generous Claude token budget, and access to Anthropic office hours.
• Training: Intensive onboarding from Anthropic and CodePath, plus 5 hours/week of ongoing training throughout the fellowship.
• Host Organizations: At least 400 nonprofits will host fellows. Examples include Braven, Code the Dream, Heartland Forward, Montgomery County Food Bank, Team Red, White & Blue, Reef Environmental Education Foundation, SoundOff, StriveTogether, YMCA of Greater Charlotte, and Goodwill Industries International.

Partnerships

• Anthropic – funds and leads strategy, provides Claude expertise.
• CodePath – acts as employer of record and runs fellowship programming.
• Social Finance – handles measurement, evaluation, and scaling vehicle.

The program aims to equip nonprofits with AI tools while building fellows' skills. Anthropic frames this as a responsibility of AI companies to invest in workers during economic disruption.
