OpenClaw v2026.10.3 Patch Release Fixes Blocked Updates, Doctor Data Loss, and Mid-Conversation Failures
OpenClaw v2026.10.3 is out as a patch release. It targets four problem areas: blocked updates and rollbacks, Doctor repair paths that could affect saved data, Mac setup and reconnection, and conversations that were breaking mid-response.
Update recovery
The release fixes several update-loop cases: completed update records blocking the next upgrade, cleanup failures during chat-requested updates, and update issues on Windows, Mac, and pnpm. The goal is fewer unexpected rollbacks.
Important caveat from the release notes: some fixes only take effect once the fixed updater is installed. If your updater is already stuck, follow the update and recovery guide for the correct first step.
Doctor preserves saved data
The Doctor changes are about stopping data loss in repair paths, not restoring data already gone:
- An unreadable legacy auth file no longer causes cleanup to discard saved OAuth profiles.
- Malformed memory files retain their original bytes.
- Blocked local plugins keep their settings and stay blocked until their paths are repaired.
The Doctor fixes prevent the affected data-loss cases; they do not restore previously deleted sign-ins.
Mac setup and reconnection
Two Mac-specific fixes: "Gateway rejected auth" in affected "On this Mac" setups, and automatic reconnection after trusted Gateway certificate renewals.
Conversations continue through more failures
Fixes cover the next reply after native compaction, ChatGPT connections closing mid-response, and Codex follow-ups after failed conversation preparation.
Muse Wonder and MiniMax
Meta users can now select Muse Wonder with text and image input. MiniMax fixes cover thinking-effort selection and expired sign-in tokens renewing at the correct regional endpoint.
Plugin upgrades and runtime
Stale Codex packages that could break replies after an update are addressed, along with plugin refreshes that could cause growing memory use. There are also fixes for queued message delivery and paired-node connections interrupted by unrelated pairing changes.
The release includes 79 PRs and 8 direct commits, with 97 contributors.
