OpenClaw v2026.10.2 Patch Release Fixes Upgrades, Missing Replies, and Long Conversation Breaks
OpenClaw v2026.10.2 is a patch release targeting upgrade failures, missing or duplicated replies, and interruptions in long conversations. It bundles 80 PRs and 12 direct commits from 107 contributors.
The main fixes fall into a few concrete areas.
Upgrade fixes for 2026.10.1
Upgrading from 2026.10.1 should now go through cleanly. The patch addresses cleanup errors that occurred after replacing the package, plus a final plugin check that could block Windows upgrades.
Doctor repairs get past multiple false failures
The doctor command will no longer report several false failures. Fixed cases include:
- Stale Gateway locks left behind after container replacement
- False maintenance warnings
- Linux database checks
Missing and duplicate replies
Replies that previously dropped or repeated in affected chats are corrected. Specific fixes include:
- Dashboard replies after a daily or idle reset
- Missing final reports from long Claude CLI tasks
- Replies lost after helper results
Long conversations continue through more failure cases
A configured fallback can now handle compaction while primary credentials cool down. Corrections sent during an answer also remain in the stored context when using a durable context engine.
Telegram preview behavior
Telegram previews stay visible until their replacement is accepted. A delayed or rejected final send no longer removes the useful text already shown.
Credential masking on long tool output
Credential masking handles long tool output more reliably. Fixes cover recognized credentials split across long output, plus freezes and stack overflows on large or repetitive text.
Additional fixes
The release also includes corrections for background tasks incorrectly cancelled as stalled, plugin tools timing out while waiting for approval, and chat freezes caused by loading large plugins twice.
If you are on 2026.10.1, this is the upgrade to take. Full release notes are linked from the source thread.
