Amisoria Gives Your OpenClaw Agent a 3D Face and Voice on iPhone
Amisoria is a free iPhone app that gives your self-hosted OpenClaw gateway a 3D character and voice — no cloud backend, no account. The developer built it to talk to their agent the way you'd talk to a person. Nothing runs on the author's servers; the gateway stays on your own Mac (their setup is a Mac mini).
How the connection works
- The app connects to your gateway over your own Tailscale network using
wss, authenticated with an Ed25519 device key you approve once viaopenclaw devices approve. - Voice uses the gateway's
tts.convertwith Microsoft neural voices (free). Because the gateway has no download endpoint, a small bridge on the Mac serves the generated audio file to the phone. - Lip-sync is text-driven rather than acoustic: hanzi → pinyin → visemes for Chinese, and English routed through TalkingHead's own lipsync, spread over the clip length. No acoustic guessing means it works in any of the 20 supported languages.
- Hands-free loop: talk, pause, it sends; it listens again after the reply. Barge-in (interrupting mid-sentence) uses iOS voice processing, with the character's playback routed through the same audio engine so echo cancellation gets an exact reference. The author says this took most of the last two releases to get right.
Model and version compatibility
It works with whatever model your gateway is set to: GPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Grok, Qwen, or a local Ollama model. It's verified against OpenClaw 2026.9.8, including handling the 9.7 stream change to data.delta.
Free tier and what's open source
The free tier is the whole thing — full conversation with your own agent, the 3D character, neural voice, hands-free and barge-in, 20 languages, no account, no ads, no time limit. A paid tier adds extras like more characters and switching models from the phone, but the author states you don't need it.
Open source components:
github.com/amisoria/amisoria
- Host setup script
- Bridge
- Install guide (English / Traditional Chinese)
- Persona rules
- Character assets — built from scratch in Blender + MPFB, no licensed avatars
There's an on-device demo mode if you want to try it before setting up a gateway. App Store link: apps.apple.com/app/amisoria/id6805385809.
